Proximity to railway station. Wi-fi access in living area
Hotel was quite conveniently located n easy to find given the Ciqueterre terrain if one does not mind walking quite a bit to the town centre n the train and boat stations. The hotel manageress was friendly n very helpful- recommended us two pretty good restaurants in Monterroso
It was old n quite tired looking. We booked 2 air conditioned rooms but were given un-airconed ones. Fortunately we were out all day and it was cool enough in the night although we had to sleep with our windows slightly open. Our room was also noisy- street noise (cars n people). "Sea view " by this hotel is merely thru a gap between the buildings in front of the hotel
The hotel was near the beach but out of the way of the noise and traffic. The room was clean and neatly decorated. The window opened on to the balcony that overlooked the garden below. The breakfast was adequate and tasty. You could get connectivity for your electronics in the lobby of the hotel.
Compared to the other places we stayed, the staff was OK and accommodating but not overly friendly. We also did not care for all of the smoking that occured onthe premise.....but that seems to be typical of Italy.
One half block from the beach, seaside shops and restaurants. On a small side street with not much traffic. There is an outside patio and parking nearby. Breakfast was standard fare.
Would have preferred a coffee pot in the room but seems not the way for most of Italy. We had a small problem with check in that was handled very professionaly by one of the staff (possible family) however another (possibly owner) seemed to have a problem with everything and everyone! He is proud of his fishing though!
closeness to everything but far enough back not to be noisy
Great location friendly and courteous staff and the breakfast was great!!!
Excellent location, friendly staff, very comfortable common parts to the hotel, nice courtyard outside with tables and a fountain, good (if small) shower, and very clean room and bathroom. Would recommend it thoroughly.
Beds were a little basic and tiny pillows.
Everyone who worked there was very friendly and efficient. Every time we would come or go from the hotel, the owners were almost always at the front desk greeting and interacting with guests. It's a great personal touch that really makes you feel at home. Excellent location - a block off the beach (our room had a view of the ocean) and just 3-4 blocks from the train station. There are a lot of great restaurants and cafes to choos from as well. Great value! We chose this hotel because after reading some of the other reviews, the things that people liked were fitting for what we were looking for, and the things people didn't like (size of room, size of shower, tv, etc.) weren't important to us anyway. This is not a luxury hotel - none of the hotels in Monterosso are. It is a very quaint, clean, pleasant place to stay. Don't go there expecting a large room, huge tv's, huge bathrooms - you won't find that. What you will find is the charm of a hotel very conveniently located in a town filled with beautiful sites, wonderful people, and great food and wine! I would absolutely stay at Hotel 5 Terre again!
The breakfast that is included with your stay is not great. We went there the first day and then went out to breakfast afterwards.
Very close to the beach! The breakfast is a typical Italian hotel breakfast. Very friendly staff with great recommendations as to where to eat, what to do, etc.
The staff is extremely helpful. The location is good.
The rooms are rather small, but what is the worst --- they have hardly any storage possibilities. The same relates to bathrooms, where it is very hard to fit the toiletries for two persons. The breakfast is rather poor. The supply of fruits was limited to grapes --- no chance for something else. There were no single vegetable on offer. It was not even possible to get some olive oil to put on bread.
Really friendly and helpful staff. They were very accommodating with everything we asked for. Rooms were simple, but clean and A/C worked well. Good location - close to the beach and train station. Good breakfast and free beach towels provided.
Price was fairly steep but actually one of the cheaper ones in the Cinque Terre. It was worth it for the location and A/C for us.
I had stayed there about 6 years ago and liked it ,so decided to stay again.Domenico ? the manager was still there and treated us very well in his quiet and efficient way and nothing was any trouble to him: eg .storing our luggage while we went to one of the other villages for a few days or giving my husband an early access to the room after completing his Cinque Terre trek.
Nothing. All was as good as before. That`s why we returned.
Very friendly service - great location.
We had requested an air conditioned room but did not get one. Coffee was the worst we had in Italy.
Well placed, cleaned the room everyday, had a safe box etc. The great plus is that they have a private parking where they leave the car.
very expensive for the size of the room and the quality of some services, such as internet were not conveniently available.
I really liked the way the owners were very nice and receptive when myself and my girlfriend arrived late. We are an Australian couple and they were happy to talk to us and laugh with us, which I can't say the same for most other hotels we stayed at around Italy.
